Save the Amazon- one person at a time. BuckSchmidt.com |
|
On the 28th of February 2001, Buck and Luciene moved to the Amazon Basin of Brazil. We lived in Macapá, right on the equator.
Why would a web designer give up his career and take his family from their comfortable life in Columbus, Ohio, USA, to live on the Amazon River? We came with a vision to save the Amazon, to tell people about Jesus, and plant a Vineyard church. We have planted a church, and we are turning it over to the national leaders, heading back to the States in Sept. 2009. ![]() |

This is from our most recent prayer email. If you don't get it and you would like to, just send a message to: Schmidt_Newsletter-subscribe@yahoogroups.com Blood Pressure I had a bit of a scare these past days. The other night, I couldn’t sleep. The room was spinning and I kept thinking that I was going to vomit. I couldn’t lie down because the room spun, and I couldn’t stand up because that would make me feel like I was going to black out. When even my tongue started swelling up, I began to understand that this wasn’t just some weird flu, this just might be a blood pressure problem. My blood pressure has been dangerously high. I am on medication now, and I am going to try to get more tests this week. I am still very dizzy, I can’t bend down or look up without feeling dizzy, or like I am going to pass out, but the doctor said it would probably take a couple of days for the medicine to take effect. Please pray for me in this regard. The Church, House, Baby Nicolas and Family The newest addition to the Schmidt clan, Nicolas, is doing fine, eating, growing, pooping and sleeping just like infants are supposed to do. Luciene is feeling much better too. We got two rooms in the house done. Luciene and I, along with Nicolas and Josiah are in one room, and in the other Hannah, Raquel and Luciene’s mom, Izolina, who came to help out with the new baby. Hannah and Raquel were so happy to have real beds. The back house where all of us previously slept has now become like a living room and office. We are using the kitchen in the back house also. It is such a blessing to have so much extra space. Thanks to everyone that has prayed for us in this matter. We still need to put the roof on the second floor. We are getting all kinds of water leaks when it rains. Please continue to pray for this need, that God would supply everything we need to finish the house, so we can start receiving teams. With the extra space we now have, we can receive visitors, so if you would like to come and visit, see the work and spend some time catching a vision for the people of Brazil, just drop us an e-mail or give us a call, 55-96-241-6318. We have seen some new people come to Christ recently, praise God. Please continue to pray for us, and for the new baby Christians, that they would grow in the knowledge of the grace of God. I have put some recent pictures on the web site at www.holylamb.com, and will continue to put photos up this week, please stop and take a look.
